A fine collection of Grade II listed buildings in the heart of Sheffield underpins the framework for the regeneration of the centre of this city. The Millennium Galleries - the cultural flagship of the regeneration project - is a stunning national showcase for the visual arts, craft and design. The illuminated playing fountains of the redesigned Peace Gardens provide a spectacular sight by night, and by day the intricate carvings and imaginative ceramics of local artists are on show. Linking the Peace Gardens and the Millennium Galleries are the elegant arches of the Winter Garden, a temperate glasshouse landscaped with winding paths and tropical plants from all over the world. A recent Commission enhancement grant is helping to create a new Millennium Square for the city. Visit www.millenniumgalleries.co.uk
