| Project description: |
This 495 km network of urban and rural cycle routes was developed to provide a cycling infrastructure for Fife and to create a culture of cycling in this part of Scotland. The cycle routes use existing roads, dedicated cycle lanes, footpaths and off-road tracks to raise the profile of cycling and to highlight its associated environmental, health and economic benefits. Linked to the Sustrans cycle route, the Kingdom of Fife Millennium Cycle Ways give access to a wide range of interesting and historical landmarks, promoting sustainable tourism of benefit to the local community as well as to visitors. |
